Hope

One of my favorite scriptures is Jeremiah 29:11. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Life begins with the hope of this verse. As little girls we dream about how wonderful our journey will be. We’ll find and marry Prince Charming, have a beautiful home with a white picket fence, a few extraordinarily handsome and gifted children, and should we choose to have a career, it will fit in marvelously with every other aspect of our life.

Then, life happens.

This website is for those of us who have come to love that verse, but in reality, our journey feels just the opposite. In place of sensing any kind of divine plan, we often find ourselves in a tangled web; rather than enjoying prosperity, we suffer from being harmed by life events. Instead of hope and a future, we seem surrounded by struggles and pain. My purpose is to help us turn our hearts more intensely toward Christ as we seek to understand the enigma of it all. And as we do that, we will see the reflection of the hand of God’s providence appearing over and over.

We are all on a journey that beckons us to process, understand and live out our faith through the plans He has for us. In his providence he has chosen the “portion and the cup” for each of us. You and I will experience times when the cup feels anything but prospering and hopeful. But as we learn more about who God is and how he really works in our lives, we will be better prepared to trust his fatherly hand, knowing that nothing can separate us from his love.

Come, walk with me on this journey.
